Easy Mode gives novice users a friendly toolbar with large icons for basic functions. Advanced/Expert Mode gives you a packed and fully customizable toolbar with the usual editor icons and "tear-away" tabbed toolbars. And experienced coders will appreciate the uncluttered look of a thin text toolbar with drop-down menus in Hardcore Mode. Normal Mode allows you to display any or all of the different toolbars together. * Working with the code - The main editor window is just as versatile, giving you Edit, Preview, and Reference views. Edit view displays your source code in fully customizable tag and syntax color highlighting with line numbers. The closest thing to a WYSIWYG is the Realtime Logics Preview in Edit mode: this gives you a split view, where you edit your code in one window and watch an almost-instant rendering of your page in the other window. * Customizations to the max - Evrsoft certainly has put in a lot of work to make 1st Page highly customizable. Packed toolbars and easy access tabs and buttons allow you to change viewing options with a mere click. You can define different tag/syntax color highlighting not only for different HTML elements, but also for different languages/file types. * Tools to make your job easier - The tools in 1st Page are what make it more convenient to use than a plain text editor. It includes the popular Tidy HTML tool that analyzes and formats your HTML. Conversion tools turn your HTML into style sheets or XML (specifically, XHTML), and text files into HTML, or strips all tags into plain text. To reduce file size, there's an HTML source compressor that takes out all extraneous spaces, line breaks, and unnecessary elements. * Parts of many - 1st Page boasts an impressive 450+ pre-defined DHTML, JavaScript, Perl, CGI, and ActiveX scripts borrowed from various online sources. These include not only the most commonly used scripts, but also a few interesting things like game scripts and even a simple search engine. Ultimately, the pre-defined scripts may not meet the specific needs of experienced scripters, especially since a few scripts came up with errors. Fortunately, you save your own scripts in the myCode library for later reuse.
