PortAudio is an open source cross-platform library for audio. Designed for playback and recording. Supports Core Audio, ALSA, MME, DirectSound, ASIO and WASAPI on Windows. PortAudio is based on a callback paradigm, like JACK and ASIO drivers. The free audio editor Audacity and JACK use PortAudio library.
